What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It offers better compression than JPEG at similar quality, but isn't widely supported on Windows, websites, or older software — which is why converting to JPG or PNG is often necessary.
