🌐 Private Image Translator

🌐 Translate Images Without Uploading Them

Photos, scans and screenshots of memos, notices, invoices and forms, translated by an AI that runs on your own computer.
Drop in several at once — they are translated one by one, and none of them ever leaves your device.

🔒 100% local — no upload, no cloud AI

🔒 Your images stay on this computer

  1. The AI comes to your files, not the other way round. The translation model is downloaded once into this browser (about 3.4 GB) and runs on your own graphics chip.
  2. Your images are never sent anywhere — not to HeicQuick, not to Google, not to an AI company. There is no server that could receive them, keep them or train on them.
  3. Built for documents you are not allowed to upload. If your company forbids putting documents or screenshots into online translators, this works differently: the file is read from your disk and processed in the tab.

Check it yourself: once the model has loaded, turn off Wi-Fi or unplug the network cable. The translator keeps working, because it never needed the network for your images.

Short answer

To translate an image without uploading it, open HeicQuick at heicquick.com/translate in Chrome or Edge on a computer, drop in one or more photos, scans or screenshots, pick the target language and press Translate. The first time, the page downloads a compact AI model (Gemma 4 E2B, about 3.4 GB) into your browser; after that, each picture is read and translated on your own graphics chip in about a minute. The text read from each picture is shown beside the translation so you can check names and numbers.

How it reads and translates each picture

1. Cut A tall page is cut into two to four strips, at the blank gaps between lines. Each strip gets the model's full attention, so small print stays readable.
2. Read The model copies out the text of each strip in its original language, without translating. Reading and translating in separate steps stops the model from guessing at text it cannot see.
3. Translate The text is translated in one pass, keeping numbers, dates, amounts and names, and the line breaks of the original.
4. Check If the translation comes back with fewer lines than the original, a line was skipped, so the page is translated again one line at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded when I translate them?

No. The translation model runs inside your browser on your own graphics chip. The only thing that is downloaded is the model itself, once, from Hugging Face. Your images are read from your disk and never sent to HeicQuick, Google or anyone else — turn off the network after the model has loaded and it keeps working.

Is this allowed where online translators are banned?

Company rules against online translators are usually about sending documents to an outside service. This tool sends nothing, which is the point of it — but your company's IT rules are what decide, so check them if you are unsure. You can show your IT team this page and the open-source code on GitHub.

Why does the first translation take so long to start?

The first time, the browser downloads the AI model (about 3.4 GB) and stores it. After that, it only needs to start the model on your graphics chip, which takes a few seconds to a minute.

Can it translate a PDF?

Split the PDF into one JPEG per page with the PDF splitter, then drop the page images here. Both steps run in the browser, so the document never leaves your computer.

How do I remove the downloaded model?

It is stored as site data for heicquick.com. In Chrome or Edge, open the padlock or site-settings icon next to the address, choose site settings, and delete the data. The model is downloaded again the next time you translate.

It says WebGPU is blocked or the graphics chip stopped. What now?

Close other heavy tabs and restart the browser completely; after a graphics-driver reset, Chrome keeps WebGPU switched off until it restarts. On a managed work computer, WebGPU may be turned off by policy, in which case only your IT team can enable it.
